The Mechanic is responsible for maintaining and repairing equipment essential to daily recycling operations. This role involves both in shop mechanical work and mobile repairs performed using a service truck. The ideal candidate is skilled, safety‑focused, and able to troubleshoot a wide range of equipment issues.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and vehicles.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and carry out timely, effective repairs.
- Complete mechanical tasks both in the shop and out in the yard using a service truck.
- Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential issues before they affect operations.
- Keep tools, work areas, and service truck organized and in good working order.
- Follow all facility safety practices and repair protocols.
- Collaborate with operators and management to ensure equipment reliability.
Qualifications:
- Mechanical experience with heavy equipment or industrial machinery preferred.
- Ability to work in various weather conditions when performing field repairs.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and manage repair tasks efficiently.
- Reliable, safety‑minded, and able to communicate effectively with the team.
