POSITION SUMMARY

The Executive Director will serve as the organization’s senior leader and primary ambassador, working closely with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, donors, businesses, and community partners. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, goal-oriented leader who can develop staff, build relationships, strengthen fundraising and revenue growth, maintain organizational accountability, and turn strategic priorities into measurable results.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with the Board of Directors to establish and execute strategic priorities, annual goals, and long-term plans.
  • Lead fundraising and revenue-development efforts, including major gifts, corporate partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and events.
  • Oversee organizational budgeting, financial performance, cash flow, accounts payable, payroll, and long-term financial sustainability.
  • Lead, coach, and develop staff while establishing clear expectations, measurable goals, and accountability.
  • Provide executive-level oversight of organizational programs, operations, community initiatives, and revenue-generating activities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with donors, businesses, municipalities, nonprofits, foundations, and other community partners.
  • Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Board of Directors and provide timely financial, operational, and program updates.
  • Represent the organization at community events, meetings, speaking engagements, and other public opportunities.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in nonprofit management, business, community development, fundraising, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage budgets, develop relationships, and support fundraising or revenue growth.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong ability to establish goals, measure results, and maintain organizational accountability.
  • Five or more years of progressively responsible leadership experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Experience with nonprofit leadership, fundraising, Board relations, affordable housing, construction, community development, or social-enterprise/retail operations is preferred.
  • Experience working within Lake and/or Geauga Counties is a plus.
