Inventory Control Specialist

Pay Rate: $20.00 - $22.50 per hour


Position Summary

A manufacturing employer is seeking an Inventory Control Specialist to maintain accurate inventory records, monitor stock levels, investigate inventory variances, and support inventory management processes throughout warehouse and production operations. This position works closely with manufacturing, warehouse, and supply chain teams to ensure inventory accuracy, material availability, and operational efficiency.


Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum two years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, logistics, warehousing, or a related field.
  • Experience using inventory management, ERP, or MRP systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory tracking software.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience supporting inventory audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or inventory optimization practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records for raw materials, work-in-process inventory, and finished goods.
  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, overstock situations, and inventory risks.
  • Perform cycle counts, physical inventory audits, and inventory reconciliations.
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends, waste, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Generate inventory reports and monitor inventory performance metrics.
  • Track inventory movement using ERP, MRP, or inventory management software.
  • Ensure materials are stored properly and remain in usable condition.
  • Assist with annual inventory counts and internal audits.
  • Support warehouse organization and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and inventory control procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing and warehouse environment and requires regular interaction with inventory storage areas, production operations, and warehouse personnel. Duties involve a combination of walking, standing, sitting, inventory counting, data entry, and material handling activities. Appropriate safety procedures and personal protective equipment must be followed as required.
