GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Under general supervision, a probation officer is responsible for the supervision of defendants,

who are under the terms and conditions of probation.

QUALIFICATIONS: An example of acceptable qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice or any equivalent combination of education, experience,

and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and maintain insurability under the City’s vehicle

insurance policy; weapon, L.E.A.D.S certifications, ORAS (Ohio Risk Assessment Tool)

Certification required or must be able to obtain such certifications within the required period of

time; Changing Offender Behavior (C.O.B) training required.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: The following are examples only and are not intended to be all inclusive:

Motor vehicle, electronic monitoring equipment; firearm; pepper spray; radio; personal

computer, telephone, copier, fax machine, printer, calculator, and other standard office
