Job Title: Executive Director
Location: Paulding, Ohio

Job Overview:
The Paulding Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking a dynamic and experienced Executive Director to lead the Chamber and provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and community engagement. This role requires an individual with a strong background in business development, organizational leadership, and a passion for fostering a thriving business community. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, members, and local businesses to support economic growth, advocate for local business needs, and enhance community involvement.
Key Responsibilities:
• Leadership & Strategy:
- Serve as the primary spokesperson and advocate for the Chamber, representing its interests to local businesses, government agencies, and the community.
• Membership Engagement & Development:
- Responsible for membership recruitment, retention, and engagement efforts to ensure the Chamber’s growth and sustainability.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with current and potential members, ensuring their needs are met and advocating on their behalf.
- Provide members with value-driven programs, resources, and services that support their business success.
• Fundraising & Financial Oversight:
- Oversee the Chamber’s financial operations, including budgeting, fundraising, and managing the financial health of the organization.
- Develop and implement fundraising strategies to support Chamber initiatives, events, and programs.
- Prepare regular financial reports for the Board, ensuring transparency and accountability.
• Event Planning & Community Outreach:
- Plan, coordinate, and execute events such as networking opportunities, educational programs, and community activities.
- Work with local businesses, government, and community leaders to promote collaboration and partnerships that benefit the local economy.
• Advocacy & Communication:
- Prepare and implement social media messages and mailings that are related to chamber events an membership
- Stay informed about local, state, and national business policies and legislation that may impact the Chamber’s members.
- Lead communication efforts through newsletters, social media, and other platforms to keep members and the community informed.
Qualifications:
• Location Preference:
- Residency in Paulding County is preferred but not required; however, familiarity with the local community and its businesses is highly valued
• Education & Experience:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent
- 2-5 years of experience in community relations and/or communications or of a related field
• Skills & Abilities:
- Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire staff and volunteers.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with a variety of stakeholders.
- QuickBooks is used for financial recordkeeping, knowledge or willingness to learn QuickBooks is recommended
- High level of professionalism, integrity, and organizational skills. o Experience in fundraising, budget management, and financial reporting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Working Conditions:
• Full-time,with options for a hybrid of office and remote position with occasional evening and weekend work to accommodate events and Chamber activities. A monthly stipend is provided for mileage and cell phone expenses.
