GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

The Foreman II is responsible for oversight of the City’s sanitary sewer collection system, stormwater conveyance system, and the I&I Division, including oversight of the operation, maintenance, and repair of the City’s infrastructure.

The I&I Division is tasked with cleaning, televising, and evaluating the City’s sanitary sewer system; performing rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure; administering the private property I&I reduction program; monitoring contractor work; and overseeing the operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation of sanitary sewer infrastructure to eliminate infiltration and inflow (I&I).

QUALIFICATIONS:

 High school diploma or GED equivalent.

 Valid class B CDL with tanker endorsement or ability to obtain within six months of hire.

 Ability to clearly and correctly communicate with the public and co-workers is required.

 Ability to effectively supervise employees within the Underground Utilities Department is required.

 Ohio EPA Class II Collection license or the ability to obtain within 12 months of hire.

 Five (5) years of experience in the Underground Utilities or other closely related experience (construction, plumbing, electrical or similar).

 Knowledge of operating and maintaining sanitary sewer, water distribution, and storm sewer systems.

 NASSCO PACP, LACP and MACP certifications or the ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire.

 Maintain residency in Shelby County or an adjacent county within 12 months of hire.
